Self I-dENITY (poem)

Self I-Dentity

Myself. Myself is me.
Not a collective, not a pair, or three
Just me. Myself I-dentity.
This resounds in me,

Through the pain,
I fight to win and understand
never allowing my emotions to get the upper hand.

Control I possess in my inherent qualities,
the savage, rambunctious, loud me.
Control I speak.
Dignity what my character is trying to reach.

Not peculiar or unique. Just me.

I’m my own identity.

Consistency is key. It will forbade actions or impulses,
whether irrationally.

Mindfully I speak… thinking,
If my Mama heard or saw that,
I’d surely get a whoppin’… I refused to go hunt looking,
In friends or even family,
to make up the distinct components of me.

I challenge the exterior
to match the insider me. Soft and cuddly.

Repeat.

Myself. Myself is me.
Not a collective, not a pair, or three.
Just me. Myself I-dentity.
It resounds in me.

Put the U back in YOU!!
