Presidential nominee Mitt Romney has publicly opposed same-sex marriage according to CBS News. His comment,

“I indicated my view, which is I do not favor marriage between people of the same gender, and I do not favor civil unions if they are identical to marriage other than by name,” according to the Denver’s KDVR-TV.

Romney’s statement was available shortly after Vice President, Joe Bidden acknowledged his opinions on same-sex marriage. Now both parties have opposing views it is obvious a hot button issue.

The White House press secretary, Jay Carney felt media pressure this week, requesting a stance from President Obama. Carney redirected the question, as the President was not there.

Same- sex marriage is expected to circle through the 2012 Presidential elections campaign with increasing support from the LGBT community.
