Emergency safety tips for teens

Indianapolis, IN

Parents should talk with their kids  to set up an emergency safety action plan.As kids begin to finish the school year more and more teens will be left alone at home while parents work.   Some tips include :

1. Make a list of important telephone numbers for example 911, fire department, closest neighbor, and family or friend.

2. Discuss realistic emergency situations so your teen will be knowledgable in any circumstance.

3. Have an emergency action plan near a phone or central area in you home for easy access.

4. Revisit the plan with your teen often. Surely one time is important however it’s proven the more you revisit the plan the more likely your teen will use the necessary steps.
