After visiting David’s Bridal I learned about this weeks upcoming 50% off sale and viewed dresses from famous designer Oleg Cassini.

David’s Bridal located near 82nd & Castleton Road is fashionably forward when it comes to the upcoming summer and fall wedding season.

The store is the official home of Oleg Cassini, fashion entrepreneur and designer.

Cassini has rubbed legs and styled bodices such as Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy.

Contemporary models in the industry also experienced the simple, enchanting style of Cassini.

Just one example of his work delicate dress styles include what Jackie Kennedy wore to the 1961 Inaugural Presidential Gala.

Jackie stunned onlookers in her satin, (tee-shirt fit) ball gown dress.

Cassini, I learned from his beginning interaction with Mrs. Kennedy that he was more than a fashion designer, he listened to a woman’s thoughts and drew his inspiration from it.

Cassini and Jackie discussed the Gala dress weeks beforehand in great detail.

The two talked about setting a tone (in fashion) for the new administration.

Cassini said he envisioned her look as an exquisite simplicity, very crisp and clean lines.

To date much of Oleg Cassini’s work remains with similar consistency in his designs.

The focus is always on the woman, their contouring lines, and their modest appeal or themselves.

Jackie Kennedy would later recall in an interview, that the Oleg Cassini’s Inaugural dress was , “Her favorite of all time.”

Cassini was born in Paris to Count and Countess Cassini. He studied art in Florence with famous painter’s, Giorgio de Chirico and Patou.

He moved to Hollywood through his intriguing interest in movies and established himself as an entrepreneur and fashion designer.
