Is it constitutional to hold people in jail on misdemeanor charges who can’t afford bail?

Today on the Rickey Smiley morning radio show correspondent Jeff Johnson talked about a judge in Harris County who is working on the release of several inmates who have misdemeanor charges and are stuck behind bars.

So we are posing the question…

Is it constitutional to hold a person behind bars if they cannot afford the proper bail monies?

One justice of the United Nations Supreme Court has decided to pass on reviewing the case at the Supreme court level.

Which could leave it in the state level to decide the fate of inmates.

What are your thoughts?
