Gun man opens fire at congressmen’s baseball practice

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was shot in the lower hip this morning in a Washington suburb.

He and other members of congress were practicing for the congressional baseball team.

The shooter has been confirmed as 66- year old, James Hodgkinson of Belleville, IL.

Hodgkinson opened fire with a single rifle in the early morning.

Witnesses said shots rang out in terror for about ten minutes.

Hodgkinson shot through a chain fence at the baseball field, striking Scalise in the hip and injuring four others.

President Trump has already  condemed the attack calling it, “very, very brutal.”

Hodgkinson  was pronounced dead at the scene after exchanging gun fire with officers.

Hodgkinson’s anti-Trump speech can be seen on his social media account including a post calling the President a “traitor” saying his supporters must be stopped.
