Why reading the fine print is important

Are you reading the fine print when signing up for services such as your local utility company, internet or cable service provider?

Large corporations like AT&T can charge upwards to $49 for late payments received by Uverse internet/tv customers.

Likewise Vectren Energy, a local utility company can charge customers $180 for reconnection fees due to missed or late payments.

Service is constantly being short handed while fees and cost are continually going up.

Consumers have little protection  from those hidden charges.

In many communities our service providers and utility companies are strategically set by boundaries and territories.

Often times consumers have little choice.

At what point can consumers negotiate the fine print and hidden fees with large corporations and local utility companies?

As consumers we should demand more transparency.
